Can we pregnant ladies swim in a pool?

Question

So my husband just told me that I cant swim in a pool because he read it somewhere that its bad for us pregnant ladies. I did my research as well but none of it says that I cant. I read one that its the Hot Tub, I can't do. Pool is fine as long as its well maintained. What's your side on this, ladies?

Hot tubs are a no. Swimming is fine up until your water breaks.

Swiming is a wonderful exercise for pregnancy, Id avoid ponds and lakes maybe because of uti's but pools are perfectly fine.

Baby floats too. Pool is great as you get bigger with all that pressure. You get in and baby floats right up. No more pressure. It’s wonderful.

Swimming will help with back and hip pain later on, it feels so relieving. The only thing my husband ever voiced about it was that I was like a human submarine lol.

I work in a community centre with a lot of lifeguards, many of who teach lessons while pregnant - it’s totally safe to swim but avoid the hot tubs and saunas!

Pool should be fine. I've read hot tubs are only because it can change your body temperature and that would have an effect on the baby.

Swimming is excellent exercise for us! It's great to train the core muscles and takes the strain from our joints and keeps us in shape! I've just been told once the cervix opens to prepare for birth, the risk of infection is too high, so leading up to a few weeks before birth is perfectly fine! Swim away, girl, swim away to your heart's content
