What would you do?

My Daughters first birthday is coming up in a few short months. My husband and I would like to have one party and invite both of our families. We are thinking of just renting a community room or something along those lines. My mother, however, hates everyone, I mean everyone. She doesn’t like to socialize. She complains about everyone and everything. She hates all my friends and will just sit back and gossip the whole time to my family. The next day I always get a phone call about how so and so is an idiot and why are you friends with people like that. She always complains to me when my siblings have combined family parties about how she doesn’t like anyone. Would you go ahead with the one big party or just have two separate parties? I can’t believe I’m even asking this. I’m just so over her dramatic attitude. Thank you.
