Is it worth it

I found a job $8.50 a hour. 12 hour shifts . I’m 18 in college I only go to school 2 days a week but I work a half day on one of my school days. It’s 35 mins away from home & im only off 2 days. My parents are saying I’m gonna barely get paid I’m not sure if it’s worth it or not it’ll b a first job. Idk if I get paid every week or every other week yet
