Anybody had IUD and Nexplanon? Which was better?

I’ve had the arm implant before and liked it. I also like the fact that they can put it in while I’m still at the hospital for recovery, no need to make a separate trip. 
I’ve never had an IUD before, has anyone had both and liked one better?

I’ve had both. I absolutely hated nexplanon. Had a lot of irregularity and periods were super long and heavy with TERRIBLE cramps. I always had light, short periods when I wasn’t on birth control. 
Then I switched to IUD and it felt like a God send. Periods were light, short, and eventually stopped all together. I had no negative symptoms aside from cramps right after getting it put in. And when my husband and I decided to start ttc, removal was easy, and normal cycle returned a month later.
I had the Mirena IUD. I’ve heard the copper IUD has a lot more negative effects.
