How do you deal with pressure to get married?

My youngest sister is getting married in Spring and everyone in my family and extended family keeps making comments and jokes about how the youngest is getting married before me. I don’t really know how to deal with it. I never really saw myself getting married and this is making me not want to even more. I’m only 25.

Shrug it off! It was a family joke for a VERY long time with me and my hubby. We didn’t get married until our 14th anniversary together! 🤣

Like Jessica's comment says, my first response to this post was to shrug it off. What everyone else wants doesnt matter. I believe that you people should get married when/if it is right for them. Getting married due to peer pressure is the wrong way to do it. Do what you feel is right for your life, when it is right for you. No one else is living your life, even if they try to live vicariously through you. My bf definitely gets more pressure than I do, having a conservative family and working with much more conservative coworkers. He just brushes it off because he knows he doesnt share their same beliefs about how he should be living his life. I have a much less conservative/traditional environment where most people basically see us as the same as married and it's okay that we aren't. We just laugh at people who think that we have to follow a traditional life. My bfs coworkers go as far as to literally tell them that he has to "compromise" and propose when we share the same views and feelings about marriage.
