How to get into labour at 40 weeks?

Ok ladies so did you do anything to provoke the contractions/ labour ? I am so ready for this baby to come. I see a lot of ladies getting elective inductions, but they don't do them here in the UK and if you have no reasons then they wait until week 42..... BUT I am so done, waiting until 42 weeks ???!!!! COME ON looool I want my baby nooooooow

At 40w0d, I bounced on an exercise ball, stimulated my nipples and walked around a lot. The doctor also did a membrane sweep and I had my baby two days later.

Evening primrose oil straight into the vagina worked for me with both my kids. After the second night if doing it I went into labour (both times). Helps with effacement I believe!

If you're a first time mum you can have a sweep at 40 weeks if it's your second+ they'll do a sweep at 41 weeks that moved things along with my first although I did end up getting induced in the end. I'm 40wks today and planning a long walk tomorrow to get things moving 🤞
