What is a DnC like?

I have to get a Dn C and i know how they do it but how do you feel after it, do you bleed after it? Any advice?

I think I just had a bad experience, but I was in a lot of pain after, I had really bad chills that caused be to uncontrollably shiver despite being by the woodstove with 2 blankets on me. I had what felt like contractions for hours, and I had pretty bad cramps for 3 days after the procedure. And I still bled for 2 weeks after. But i also lost a pretty big tissuey clot too, so i dont know if something went wrong, or if I just had a bad experience.

How long are you on "pelvic rest" after a DnC before you can try again?

I’m so sorry 😔 I had one Christmas Eve and was able to enjoy a great Christmas Day with my family - light bleeding and some cramping - however about 4 days after I passed a LOT of clots which was very unsettling, as I didn’t know that was something that could happen. It was only over the course of an hour in the morning and then the bleeding was virtually gone after that happened. Sending you positivity ❤️

I had one back in July...I woke up with no pain, and barley any blood...I think I only spotted for a couple of days, but no clots of a lot of blood. Only thing, it burned to pee for a few hours after the surgery. But everything was fine, and I was hungry right after the surgery. They usually use a lighter anesthesia for DNC’s, so the anesthesia shouldn’t be too bad. And I’m so sorry ❤️

I had one Jan 10th. I woke up crying and telling the nurse how it wasn’t fair to try for a baby and lose it while other women don’t even want their babies... I was soooo overcome with emotions. I had light cramping but Motrin helped that and light/moderate bleeding decreasing to spotting for about 11 days post op. Just take a couple days to lay around and rest.

I had one in the beginning of January. I felt really groggy and nauseous after the procedure because of the anesthesia. I had what felt like cramps for a few days with light spotting. I got on a plane less than 24 hours later, did Disney, and attempted to run a marathon 3 days later (I made it 23 miles). I ended up bleeding a little after the run but it all subsided within a week and was never worse than a regular period for me.
Honestly it was a little scary and sad but it was quick and I would make the same decision again if I had to.

I have had one dnc and I did not have pain afterwards. When I woke up, I was nauseous from the anesthesia. For me, that was the worst part. However, they gave me anti nausea meds and I was able to leave hospital a few hrs after procedure. I just rested and slept at home the rest of the day. I had bleeding like a light period for a few days. Physically the recovery was much easier than I anticipated.
