37 weeks today, been having period cramps since yesterday but today they have gotten worse/stronger and more consistent

Definitely could be! I was 37 weeks and started with period cramps. Turned out to be in labor, had my son alittle over 24 hrs later! Sounds like your little one could be coming soon! 😊

You should start timing them to check if they come regularly. 
If you have contractions around 60-90sec for 1hour, every 5 minutes...call your midwife/hospital. 
If they go away and are not regular they are probably just contractions preparing you for labour. If you are not sure, call in to be assured
