I still can't believe he did it!!!

On Monday my boyfriend and I decided we were going to take a spontaneous trip to Washington DC as like a late Valentine's Day date. He had never been there before and it was only a 4 hour drive from where we live, so we went for it! Planned what we were gonna see, booked an AirBnB in Baltimore for the night.

So we get there and decide to do the Holocaust Museum first because it's my favorite museum in DC and I thought he just had to see it. Then we went to the Air and Space Museum because that was the one that he really wanted to see. We walk around for awhile looking at the exhibits, and he keeps mentioning that he really wants to know of this museum has a planetarium.

Come to find out that they do! The Albert Einstein Planetarium, not your average planetarium though. It is a 3D dome theatre that you sit down in seats and watch a short 25 minute film on. And let me tell you it was the coolest thing in the world. He bought the tickets for the program "Beyond the Stars" narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. It's a program about how the stars in space are all created and destroyed. And just how vast our universe is. So the end of it nears and we are both staring up at the gorgeous 3D projection of Outer Space, Whoopi narrates something like "pick a star, imagine how old it must be, how special it is, what color it is. Now focus on your star and make a wish." And that's when he did it.

Right in the middle of the Planetarium he got down on one knee and asked me if I would make his wish come true by being his wife.

(Yes my ring finger is the Washington Monument lolol)

Of course I said yes!!! I get to marry my best friend in the whole world, and the father of my child❤ I couldn't be more grateful for him, and the proposal was 100000000x more perfect then I ever could have imagined it. 😍

The even more beautiful thing is that he had been talking and coordinating with my mom for months about this, and she actually gave him the ring that apparently she had been holding onto my entire life for me. Almost since I was 5 years old and I had no idea!!!! I love it so much. And I couldn't be happier right now. I swear at 23 weeks pregnant, the baby knows that his parents are engaged now because he hasn't stopped kicking since!

P.S. And funny part is he had been carrying the ring around all day, and he had told security at every place that we went to that he had a ring in his pocket that he couldn't take out in front of me. And they were really cool about running his coat through the metal detectors so that he didn't have to take the ring out. But still safely check everything. And I had no idea he had been doing this all day!!!
