Levothyroxine side effects?

Does anyone else take medication for an under active thyroid? I have been taking Levothyroxine for over a year now. I have been experiencing bleeding during/after sex for the past year, not to mention - painful. I have also had abdominal pains but I have had those for several years now. I went to the OBGYN and he thinks that my thyroid & thyroid medication is what has been making me bleed during/after intercourse. He prescribed me birth control & said that should help with the bleeding as well as the painful sex. I’m not sure what to think... I was hoping to find someone else who has had these same symptoms?

I have never had those symptoms! That sounds awful. I did find out I was taking mine wrong for the longest though. It’s supposed to be taken on an empty stomach and I was not doing that. Adjusting that I feel like I felt a little more energy

What about your dosage? Maybe it’s too high for you? I’ve been in levothyroxine for several months, no side effects at all.

I've been taking Levothyroxine for over a year now & I've never experienced that. Talk to your Endocrinologist though. It could be related. I pretty sure there are other prescription options. 
Also, I don't take any oral birth controls anymore. That was messing my system up.

I have been taking it for 5 years now. I was on birth control also and I did have bleeding after sex and also painful. End up that the med dosage was off ( both high and low at times) and that is what was causing bleeding and was painful bc it was dry, try using lube and check your tsh levels

I have been taking it since March 2017. I have had abdominal pain but I also have other issues. I do not bleed during or after sex. I had the IUD until April 2018. Been TTC but no luck yet.

I've never had that happened and was on it 5 yrs straight. I was on birth control already though. But that's weird. I'd have the doctor check for other reasons.
