Flying during the first trimester

Jade

Hi everyone! I am exactly 7 weeks today. My husband and I are supposed to go to LA and we’re trying to decide whether we should drive the 6 hours or fly the hour. My OB said flying is perfectly fine but I’m just so paranoid. Anyone else fly during the first trimester? What was your experience? Thank you!

I flew from NY to London, Jordan, Cyprus then back to NY. No issues with the baby. I was miserable during the flights due to my morning sickness.

I did two ten hour flights when I was four and six weeks. My mom even flew at 7 months to South America..... definitely don’t advise this but flying is perfectly safe:) drink lots of water. Also if you tell the flight attendants they are always super nice and will give you extra snacks🙌🏼

Flown in my second and third. Walk around a lot, drink lots of water and invest in some compression socks. No biggie. Flight attendants get pregnant too right!

I’d actually suggest flying over driving. Pregnancy increases your risk for blood clots. Mix that with sitting for 6 hours and you are asking for trouble!

I flew from GA to London when I was 6 weeks and back when I was 8 weeks. Only issue was my rough nausea, the turbulence did not help at all!
