Changing the due date?

Question

When would the Dr change the due date or what would cause the doctor to change the due date? 
My little lady is consistently measuring two weeks ahead in size and weight. I am gestationally 26 weeks but she is measuring 28 weeks. 
Any ideas? Thanks everyone!

At my hospital, your due date is taken from your 12 week scan and we don't change it after that because we know that's the most accurate date to go off

My girl always measured several weeks ahead, they never changed my date, they always stuck with my earliest scan dating. Some babies measure bigger but they still need the same amount of time to develop. (Also when my girl arrived she was actually 7lb 10oz, not the massive baby they estimated from the scans. It's just an educated guess)

As far as the know, they don't.
But if she's bigger than expected they might talk about inducing at a certain point or having a c section.

Measuring ahead doesn’t mean developing ahead. Your baby is still only developed as far as it’s gestational age- it just means it’s a bit bigger than average for its age ☺️

My first son was measuring 2w4d ahead. they did not change my due date, and told me he would be a big baby. He was born 2 days before his due date, and only 7lb4oz

Yeah I don’t think they change the due date after 12 weeks. Mine was adjusted so I was 4 days further along at 12 weeks and I’m also now measuring consistently 2 weeks ahead (at 26 weeks I was measuring 28, then at 29 weeks I was measuring 31) and I’ve asked my midwife if it means she will be coming earlier or be bigger but she says not necessarily, it could just be extra amniotic fluid and these are all estimations anyway

They don’t change it, they always go by your first date

I measured 3 days ahead at 9 weeks and 5 days ahead at 12 weeks, they kept my due date based on my last period. My doctor said they wouldn't change my due date unless I had measured a full week ahead during those two times.
