Just need to vent

I accepted a new job with a rival company 8 months ago. I loved working there and was thriving- I know I was a good employee. When I got there my section was a mess and I’ve been told numerous times I was doing a great job. That all changed when I told them I was pregnant at the end of Dec. A week ago they hired a temp to “help with some things” but then called me into their office and let me go.

I know they’ll be held responsible and have to pay me a settlement, but this is not the stress I needed when I should be enjoying the beginning of my third trimester.

side note: I am Canadian and under employment laws here state that after 3 months an employer must give a verbal warning and a written warning before a final notice. I have never been corrected on anything ever.
