The thing is is that a blood test can detect much lower levels of HCG than a urine test can and can also detect it sooner. However, it depends on what level they go by that is considered negative when doing a blood draw. I’d ask to see what that level is.

2 kinds of blood tests
Quantitative- how much hcg in the blood
Qualitative- presence of hcg (over 25 usually) 
So if it was qualitative and it hasn’t reached the benchmark amount, they’ll say negative. If it’s quantitative and they said negative then it’s negative.

My second daughter didn’t show up on. Blood test for a bit but we could see her via ultra sound . We didn’t much explanation as to why except my body wasn’t make very much hormones at that time🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s possible that HCG levels are not high enough (even in blood) right after implantation. It takes generally 2 days after implantation for HCG levels to be high enough to be detectable in blood!

Just use a reliable home urine test. They are the most accurate way to tell. The decent ones are 99.9% accurate from the date a period is due. There are lots of other more common reasons for a late or missed period though and it’s normal to have a late or missed one occasionally x
