Periods and birth control

So I just started taking birth control again after being off of it for two years. I did the Sunday start method so I was still on my period during the first week of pills. I had about three days of no bleeding then after that a week of brownish/red discharge. Then on the third week of pills my period started which it’s not supposed to start until the fourth week. Is this normal?? I know birth control can mess with your cycle for the first few months you are on it. Also, I do have a fibroid but it’s small.
