HELP Thrush!!! Advive, Tips, anything!!!

My son is 5.5 months old. This is his third bout with thrush. Once when he was 2 months, once at 3 months and then right now. He is exclusively breastfeed. No pacifiers, no bottles. First found doctor gave Diflucan to he and I. Second round I requested Nystatin as I don't like the potential dangerous side effects of Diflucan. Third time (now) we are both on Nystatin again. He gets the oral meds, I have the Nystatin cream. It doesn't seem to be helping at all, my breasts are worse than they were a week ago when starting the medicine. I've also been using vinegar water on my nipples after every feed before the Nystatin. I've sanitized everything, running clothes through vinegar rinse cycle, sanitizing toys daily after every use. I really don't want either of us to have to use Diflucan again. Has anyone had luck with clearing up oral thrush and nipple thrush with a different remedy?
