Slight bleeding after intercourse

I am 32, use the ring for birth control, I do not have an STI but the past several times I've had sex I have very slight bleeding. I have looked up several things online but don't have a clue as to what may be causing this. Most things point to your cervix being irritated by either infection, polyps, etc. I have an appointment with my doctor Wednesday but I'm nervous as to what to expect. Any ideas? Anyone ever experience this? Thanks.
