Hcg levels? Twins??

So, I went to the hospital on Thursday, found out I was pregnant (they said probably around 4 weeks, period was due yesterday, Lmp was January 20th)
My hcg levels were at 580
I was told to get my levels checked in 48 hours, so today I went back to the hospital to get my levels checked
I was told it should double
 My hcg levels today (48 hours later) were at 1,669
My friend is convinced I'm pregnant with twins, but I'm not so sure 😂 
I do have at least 3 sets of twins in my family.
Is it normal for my hcg levels to almost triple? Do you think I'm pregnant with one baby, or twins?

It’s normal, doesn’t mean you’re having twins.

There’s a huge range for hCG, it isn’t indicative of if you’re having multiples or not 😊

My HCG was high at 4 weeks and I’m having twins, I know it’s not always an indicator but it can be. Are the twins fraternal or identical, and are they from your mother’s side or father’s side?

My levels were 560 something at 4 weeks which was high but still in normal range for single baby. I have twins. The range is very broad it’s hard to tell, only an ultrasound can confirm. Good luck!

At five weeks my hcg was over 17,000. I’ve only had one ultrasound and I’m now 19 weeks but they said it’s only one baby.
