Am I even ovulating?
Hi ladies. I recently had my Mirena removed in September of 2018. I know they say that it can take months to a year to get pregnant after removal, but my husband and I started trying right away. We have continuously tried since then having sex at least every other day during fertile periods that my apps have identified. But my periods have been irregular so it’s hard for me to really know when those “fertile periods” might be. When my period started this month, I broke down in tears. I’ve gotten to the point that I start convincing myself that I’m pregnant and making symptoms out of what is probably nothing. My husband held me and said that we just needed to try something else and asked if I had suggestions. So we bought the Clearblue advanced digital ovulation test system. He has been traveling for the past several weeks as he is in lineman school and some weeks I’ve been staying with him at Airbnb’s. So after my period ended, I started testing like the test kit said. To my surprise, 4 days after my period ended I started getting “high fertility” tests. I was so excited because I thought this debunked this underlying fear I have that I’m not even ovulating and for some reason can’t get pregnant. So we booked an Airbnb and I travelled to meet him and we’ve been baby dancing every single day for the past 6 days...which have all been “high fertility” days.
So I got a little discouraged yesterday and read the box with the kit which says that most women only have 0-4 “high fertility” days before they reach peak fertility, which is what I’ve been waiting for. The box says that a smaller percentage of women have 6-9 “high fertility” days prior to peak. And a VERY small percentage have 10 or more “high” days prior to peak. It then goes on to say that if you have 10 days of high fertility that you should stop testing for this cycle because you probably aren’t going to reach peak this time. Today makes day 7 for me and now I’m terrified that peak is never going to happen for me. Has anyone else used this system? Does anyone else have 6+ high fertility days before they reach peak? Or has anyone taken these tests and not reached peak? I’m really just looking for some insight because now I’m sad that we wasted tons of money on an Airbnb for a week just for “high fertility,” which I’m worried could just be the slightest raise in estrogen and not actually mean that I have any heightened change of getting pregnant. And also that this test kit was $60.
