Iud or Implant?

What should I go with? I have a history of BV (i’m super sensitive to scent and lubricants. I also have heavy periods and cramping. 
I don’t necessarily want to spot or bleed all the time which I hear the implant does. 
both are 99%+ effective tho which is what’s important.

I have terribly heavy periods and was debating between these two. I ended up getting the mirena IUD which is FDA approved to treat heavy periods. My periods stopped after month 4, now on month 9. And I love it. My doctor said you're more likely to spot with the implant. The first 6 months with either you could have irregular bleeding so try to wait it out. The implant circulates the blood stream so more likely to have side effects. Mirena hormones stay in the uterus so less likely to have side effects. Meds dont interact with mirena. I love my mirena. I think if you choose one and dont like it you could always try the other one. Irregular bleeding is common for both for the first 6 months so keep that in mind. IUD insertion for me was crampy but the whole appointment was 5 mins. My only side effect was bad cramps for 2 weeks.
