Your experience coming off hormonal birth control
Hi ladies. I was wondering if you could share with me your experience coming off of hormonal birth control and into FAM. Was it liberating? I have been on hormonal birth control for 6 years now. So aside from not wanting to accidentally get pregnant, I l am a little afraid of how I might change coming off of it. Physically and mentally. I started when I was 18 so I don’t think my hormones were completely normalized before I started hormonal birth control. Anyway. I’m newly married, not wanting kids at the moment and have sex pretty much everyday. I sometimes blame my mood swings, low sex drive and slow mind on my birth control because I feel like, I don’t know, like it changes me. Did you feel this way? However, I’m afraid that if I stop my birth control and go with FAM I won’t change and won’t be any different and I’ll realize that that’s just the way I am (if it is). Also I would really like to have a real period again. Did anyone else feel that way? Did you change? How did your relationship with your partner change?
Also I was thinking of trying the copper IUD (non hormonal) before going on FAM thoughts?
