I just went to my 37w5d appt and am 50% effaced and 2cm does that means labor its near or i could stay like this until 40w?

I was 3cm and 80% effaced for 3 weeks before my water finally broke.
Dilation doesn't mean anything until you're in active labor unfortunately.

Sadly it doesn’t tell you much. You can stay that way until 40+ weeks or you can start to go quickly.

I was at 2cm at 37wks and stayed there for 2. Weeks. Every week I was more effaced but didn’t go into labor until 39wks.

I was 1-2 cm dilated and 80% effaced at 37 weeks and now i am 40 weeks and still 80% effaced and now 3 cm dilated. It doesnt really mean labor is around the corner, just that your body is preparing.

It doesn’t mean much. I was 3cm and 50% effaced at 36 weeks and went 40&5

I was 1 cm and 40% for 5 weeks and didn't budge until I was induced at 41 weeks.
