Pregnancy after an IUD?

Question

Who is TTC after an IUD? I'm planning on taking mine out soon to start trying. What was the removal like? Any suggestions or things to note??

I have had the mirena 2x. 1st time for 4 years took it out no problem didn't feel it. Took us 8 months we were barely trying. Then I got pregnant right after my son. I got it again had it for 7 years again no problem taking it out. I would be careful when trying to get pregnant right away. The IUD thinks out the lining of your uterus so it makes it hard to implant.  Dont get me wrong there are women who have had 1st shot after taking it out went one to have a healthy pregnancy. It would be hard to go through a mc. My ob said at least 3 cycles but I had it in 7 years. I would wait at least 2 to let your body get back into swing of things. Definitely start opks so you know when your ovulating. Good luck and baby dust.

I am, for me the removal was sweet relief. Mine gave me the worst cramps. The doctor just pulled it out it didn’t hurt but it did surprise me when he did it. My cramps were gone within moments. 
You’ll probably have withdrawal bleeding about 2 days and it can take time for your cycle to get back to normal. 
I got mine taken out around my period date and I had a regular length but lightish period. 
My period has been a little weird since I got it out in September. Missed October completely, December was late by a week and heavy, then January was early by 3-4 days and was VERY heavy and lasted 2 weeks. Was hoping that meant that I would have a regular cycle this month but based on normal period, and my last period I’m late by 3-8 days (depending on which date we use as my projected period) based on my last one I’m 3 days late with negative tests but tons of PMS symptoms which can also be pregnancy symptoms. So hoping I get one or the other soon. 
If you want to try to conceive and get into it fully get a bbt thermometer, OPKs off amazon and prenatals, test for O 2x per day until you get a positive (starting day after your period ends) and start temping the day it begins. Take temp as soon as you wake up and at the same time everyday IDK of what I do works bc I didn’t know that at first. But I wake up a really different time each day so I set my Fitbit to go off at 6 I take it then go back to sleep. 
Good luck! And don’t get too upset if it doesn’t happen at first, it can take time for your body to regulate or you could go right back to normal.

🙋 I got mine removed quite a few months ago. Removal wasn't bad at all. I couldn't even feel it. Praying for baby #2.

I had the Mirena for 4.5 years, inserting it and removing it was extremely painful. Shortly after I got the Skyla for two years, insertion was extremely painful again. Quick but painful. Had it for two years and took it out this past October. My doctor could not see the string, however, so she asked if I could tolerate more invasive tools to get up into my cervix to grab it. I was already hitting my threshold, though, so I said no. I then had to undergo a whole surgical process and be put under anesthesia a month later just for her to get it out. This all sucked. The good news is, it took us just three months to conceive :)
