What is a rock n play used for?

I’m 33 weeks pregnant with my first. I’ve been reading online the rock n play is not safe for sleep. What do people use it for? Is it like a bouncer? Another place to put the baby down during awake time?

Ya just another thing to put them in. I personally dont trust them. If you have a swing and/or a bouncer that's better. You dont need all 3

I've seen others use them for nap times and such but I would never recommend letting a baby sleep in one during the night.
