I’m so stressed and I know it’s not good for the baby ☹️

Over the past couple days my little town got hit with the craziest snow storm I’ve ever seen here. We got about 2 feet of snow in about 36 hours and the roads aren’t being well taken care of (they are trying but they can’t keep up with it). I work at a hospital (as a cook in the kitchen) so we can’t close, our patients still need to be fed, but because of the weather, some of my coworkers can’t make it in from their homes out of town. Because of this, I’ve had to work different shifts than my normal schedule and because I can’t get my car out of the driveway, my husband has to drive me to work and I have to find a ride home.

This has all been so stressful for me especially since I’m pregnant. And to add to it, I’m a full time student (online) and working these longer/later shifts (on my feet) has put me really behind in my schoolwork. And my coworker that’s supposed to work with me tonight just said she’s not coming in and she lives in town! So I’m probably going to have to do her job and my job and work later than I’m used to and not get much homework done.

Not to mention I’m an anxious wreck all day because my husband works swing shift in the next town over (30 miles away) and he has to drive in this in the middle of the night.

My direct supervisor knows I’m pregnant and she has to see that this is stressing me out...but if no one else can come in I guess there’s nothing she can do about it.

I feel like everyone else is getting snow days and spending time with their families and I’m having to work extra long and hard with no break.

I just don’t know how to handle the stress ☹️
