Children sensing pregnancy?
I have a two year old son, he’ll be turning 3 in April. A little back story I’m 5 days late on my period. My SO other and I have been trying for maybe 3 months? I’ve been nauseous (I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my son) extremely tender boobs which have gotten heavier, very noticeably. Fatigue, mild insomnia, back pain, extremely emotional, you get the picture. All the symptoms.
About thirty minutes ago my son came out of his room, sits on my lap and asks “I got a baby sister?” He’s an only child. I’ve never even heard him SAY the word sister before this day or really even talk about babies unless he sees one. I look at him and say “Why do you think you have a baby sister?” He lifts up my shirt, points at my stomach and says “You have my baby sister in your tummy mommy” just smiling and rubbing my stomach. He’s never talked about anything like this before.
At this point, I’m shook.
My boyfriend and I haven’t talked about the possibility of me being pregnant around my son at all. I haven’t tested yet because I want to give it a little more time & not get my hopes up even though my period is never late, like ever and I’m pretty in tune with my body.
Has any experienced or heard of young children having a sense of these kinds of things? Just curious if anyone has stories like this where they actually ended up being pregnant!
