I never really experienced contractions with my first. My water broke and I got to the hospital and had two contractions before I got the epidural.

Yesterday I had an appointment and she swept my membranes. I was 4 cm and 80% effaced.

Today at 38 weeks exactly, I’ve had my bloody show. Nearly four hours ago, painful and somewhat regular contractions started. They were initially 10 minutes apart, and then got close to 6 minutes apart. I’ve had horrible and consistent back pain since then. We took showers and finished our hospital bag, but my contractions have slowed down and have gotten slightly more irregular. Could I still be in labor? Think it’ll happen soon? I haven’t really felt many baby movements in between contractions and my husband and I are trying to decide when to go in.
