Major mum guilt. I’m 9 weeks pregnant and the guilt has kicked as my son won’t be my only child soon. He is the centre of my world and I just feel bad that he may not feel like that when baby bro/sis comes arrives. Anyone else feel this way and any tips?

He might not be your only child anymore, but he does get a sibling and a whole new reltionship with her/him! Having a sibling is awesome. He’ll have a friend for life :) Plus I think your kids will still be the center for you, there will just be more of them :)

Feeling this for sure. My sons my whole world and I just keep wondering how I will love the next baby as much but I believe it is possible! I just feel guilty that I’m replacing him, but I know he’s excited. Thinking it’ll just be super important to have days with just mommy and him!

I had an only child, 5 year old 2 weeks ago until we had our baby girl.  I was so nervous, but it’s been great.  The entire pregnancy, we built up how great it’d be to have a sibling and what a great big brother he’d be.  We made him feel special the entire time and told him that she’ll be his best friend and that he’ll need to protect her.  We took him to drs appts and just included him along the way.  Since she’s arrived, he kisses her and wants to hold her.  He tells her to have sweet dreams.  He’s been so great and it’s really been easier this time around.  Now, my little boy has more family!

I feel this so hard right now! I have a 13 month old and I’m 16 weeks pregnant. I was rocking my son to sleep the other night and cried because I felt so guilty because I can’t carry him every where and come August, my arms will be full caring for his brother and I have no idea how to make my son understand he’s not being replaced, we’re just adding more love to our family.

I felt like this my entire pregnancy, I was so so sad for my son. But honestly, a sibling is the best thing you can give your child. Mine absolutely adore each other 💙

I’m not even pregnant again yet and I’m already feeling nervous and overwhelmed that my son will feel left out and replaced. I guess it’s just natural. But I’m sure once your second will be here it’ll change. Just make sure you spend time with your 1st born too.
