Contractions 2 minutes apart, but not dilating

Lost my mucous plug and had my "bloody show." About 2 hours of contractions at 2-5 minutes apart lasting 50 seconds each. Went in to hospital after a full hour of contractions at less than 2 min apart. Was hooked to a monitor for 20 min that confirmed consistent contractions 2 min apart. But am only 1cm dilated. Chose to go home. No clue when to go back, they said come back when contractions feel intense. Feel pretty intense already
