My mother in law and step mother in law are BOTH planning a baby shower TOGETHER!! These are the same women who 26ish years ago wouldn't be caught dead in the same room, let alone have anything nice to say to each other and would drag the kids into the middle of it. Just getting them to be cordial to each other at our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner was a stressful event in of itself.

I told my husband "your mom's are planning the baby shower together. Send help" and his first response was "wait you're not talking about *my* mom's right?"

Im all "yeah your mom and step mom are working together and I think they might actually get along" 😳

He goes "well in a million years I never thought this day would come. This baby must be something special!"

He's so cute when he's all excited about the baby.

But seriously. How does this even happen, and how do I help maintain the peace? Or should I just sit back and leave them to the planning?
