No, because I have given birth twice and know firsthand how the brain can be a bit slow to process an emergency and respond after giving birth naturally.

If you’re going to have a home birth you at least need a midwife or a trained professional there. You don’t know the signs of complications and won’t be able to monitor the baby. Things can go from normal to life threatening in SECONDS, just because you want a natural birth doesn’t mean it’s worth it to attempt to deliver your baby without medical professionals when there’s a good chance something could go very very wrong. Think of your baby

I plan on giving birth at home next time but with a midwife team. Its pretty dangerous to go at it alone. Even if all the midwife does is watch you, birth can be pretty unpredictable and you’ll want a professional there if something goes wrong

Waaaay too dangerous unless you’re a doctor.  (Even then) You at no point will be able to acknowledge when you’ve become high risk. Midwives can at least tell you when you need to go to the hospital. I don’t care if you’ve had 10 kids, this is a terrible idea.

We’re planning a home birth with a midwife. One of my good friends accidentally had an unassisted home birth because her labor was super fast and midwives were stuck in traffic, though! Luckily everyone was healthy!
