Plug?! Or show?!

So I have been having period cramps on and off since last night, no pattern at all as yet but have been to the toilet twice this morning and wiped and had a lot of whatever this is and have had to poop a lot more since yesterday TMI sorry but could this be the start of things or my plug?

I've consistently been losing bits and pieces of my plug, like this for 10-12 days now. I have pelvic girdle pain so I'm not very active, which may be why the plug hasn't come out in one go. I mentioned it to my doctor yesterday and she said seeing anything like that is a sign your cervix is softening and it's a good thing.
