Will I need help overnight while in hospital?

Question

For those who have already had a second child, did your partner stay each night in the hospital with you or did they go home to be with your other child?
At first I thought it would be best for my husband To go home each night, unless of course it's in the middle of labor , to be with our 3 year old . 
Thinking that it would be an easier transition for us for when myself and baby come home then if she had been away at someone's house for a few nights without one of us.
But now I'm starting to get worried that I'm going to need my husband's help and need him to stay with me each night.  At my hospital the baby stays in your room with you the whole time , they do not leave to stay in a nursery. 
Feeling torn on what I should choose to do.

If you have a CSection I would say you will need the help. My husband stayed with me all the 4 days I was there. My older children went to grandmas. We’re doing the same this time around. Only because it’s harder with the incision to move and be mobile. If you’re having a natural birth, I say he can go home to rest and come back in the morning.

I had a natural birth and really appreciated having my husband there through the night. I was exhausted and in pain afterwards so having that extra support and company was helpful.  And despite being tired as well, my husband was happy to be there with us and get to experience as much of our little guy's first days as possible. Oh, and for reference, this was vaginal birth with a small tear and only basic otc pain meds afterwards.

I always let mine go home just because he was still working and the nurses would come in every hour and he would wake up. I didn’t need the help

My mom stayed with me for my first. My husband did not stay for my second (his choice, not mine) but I was able to send baby to nursery to get a few hours of sleep so no big deal. With my third, my second husband stayed with me. The older two were with their dad, so it worked out. I would have been fine alone but it’s nice to have the help and alternate shifts. He will stay with me for this one too. My older two will most likely be with their dad again and my youngest will stay with my sister.

My parents live 25 min away. My mom will either be staying at our house or my 3 year old daughter will spend the night at hers. Just two nights. That’s what my sister did with her second. For their third child, my brother in law went back home while she was in the hospital intermittently (to get actual sleep and rest 🙄) but they coordinated with my mom to watch the two older ones as needed.

With my first I had a hard time getting in and out of bed because of my tear and swelling, so this time I’m having my SO stay at the hospital with me and my sister is going to stay at my house with our son. If I feel better than last time and my son is giving her a hard time I’ll have him go home.

If you're having a natural birth then I would say for him to go home unless you have other worries? I'm having a repeat c section and I couldn't even carry the baby right because it hurt do bad and its hard to move around! In my hospital my daughter and husband can sleep their with me

My husband is gonna go home to see our 15 months old and take him to daycare i guess but our son will sleep at grandmas
