In 2016 I found out I had genital herpes. I got it from my boyfriend at the time and we remained in the relationship for about 2 years so we never had any sexual restrictions, it was a regular sex life. Ive recently broken up with him & is now trying to get back out there. I met this one guy at work and we really hit it off, not in a relationship, but we’re FWB. I told him from the jump about my situation(that’s what we call it) and he gave me the most humane response I’ve ever received about this & that made me so much more attracted to him. We are now both trying to figure out how to have the most fulfilling sex life around my having genital herpes. I’ve asked my general doctor, my OBGYN, & her nurse practitioner & none of them really answered my questions except to say “just wear a condom” ...like, no duh 🤦🏽‍♀️ I know that we can have unprotected sex when I’m not having an outbreak as long as he knows the risk (which he does).

What can/can’t we do? Can he preform oral sex on me without contracting oral herpes? Is it possible for me to get oral herpes from all this? My drs. were seriously no help at all.
