Can opposites have a lasting healthy relationship? (More info on comments)

Is it possible for two people to have no common interests but the relationship last? If any of you are in a healthy relationship like this or have been and it didnt qork out, may you give your option and reason?

Uh yes and no. I've been in relationships where I was different than the guy and it never worked. Now I'm with a man who is more like me and its working so far

Yes. My husband and I could not be any more different but we’re 8 yrs deep into our relationship. We fight over things all the time very petty things lol but its love at the end of the day.

I interpreted the poll differently than your description. I think opposite personalities can last, me & my fiancé are proof of that. He’s more chill & laid back he has not one mean bone in his body I’m the opposite. I’m not mean but I won’t always play nice guy & I can be a hothead I wouldn’t call myself chill either. We share many interests but when it comes to our personality traits we are split opposites. I think any two people that love each other can make it work & find middle ground though.

My answer is based off of my parents, 26 years together. Total opposites in interests and personality.

They don't watch the same stuff, one reads one doesn't, their food interests are even different, one is antisocial the other isn't, different religious views, and so on. Im surprised they even speak the same language. Both are just miserable, and only staying together because of us kids (which by this point everyone can see) 
But doesn't mean all relationships will be like my parent's.

I know from my experiences that you can be in "lust" with someone for years convinced its love before it wears off and you find yourself with someone who you have nothing in common with and feel unfulfilled.
I can't say that its a bad idea to be with a partner that you don't share common interests with or maybe personality traits.
But I CAN say that its a rare gift when you find someone who you can enjoy your favorite things with and seemlessy fit into eachothers lives. 
What's going to happen when your older and sex isn't on anyones mind anymore? Are you going to spend your lives doing things with or without each other?

Yes. All you have to do is keep an open mind & heart, and learn to enjoy the things your s/o enjoys. Even if you can't do that, learn to appreciate that those things make your s/o happy.
