Baby boy is here!
Woke up to loud pop at 3:30am, water broke almost completely. Got to hospital around 4:30am after waking up my husband and panicking around the house. Contractions didn’t start until around 5:30am, but came really really quickly and close together. Almost immediately 1-2minutes apart. I. Was. In. Pain. When they first checked me, I was at 3cm. Around 8:30 I was at 4cm and begging for the epidural. As soon as I got the epidural I knocked out for a couple hours from being so exhausted from yelling in pain. By 10am they checked me again and I was FULLY DILATED. Waited one more hour and I was ready to push!! Pushed for 1 hour and he was here!
Wyatt Colt. Born exactly at 12pm. 10LBS 3Oz 20.8INS LONG. HE IS HUGE. They put him on my chest and I was in shock that I carried this baby in me for nine months (39 weeks on the dot)!! Sadly he is having breathing problems and is at a NICU an hour away and I didn’t get to go with him. Hopefully I get discharged soon so I can go visit him, but the doctors say he is doing good so far!
Postpartum:
Let me tell you what hurt the most.. once he was out of me they have to push on your abdomen to push out blood clots and shrink your uterus every 15 mins. I SCREAMED LOUDER THAN I DID DURING CONTRACTIONS AND EVERYTHING. That hurt so bad. Plus i was soooooo swollen down there and couldnt get up and walk yet that they had to re-insert a catheter. (Right next to my clitoral tear) also, SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER. All this is happening while my husband is with baby in a different room while he is struggling breathing. I was crying because of the pain and because of my baby boy having to be transported to a different hospital. My husband came in crying because of the pain i was in and his baby boy was in. That was the hardest part. They brought baby in to say goodbye and i got to hold him for the first time for about 2mins and he was taken away. My husband went with him so i was left all alone in that room for a couple hours. I wanted my husband to be with him, but we don’t have any family where we live and all the nurses left too. Still cant move my legs so i was bed bound. That first night was the hardest.
The next day is 100 times better. I ate food, the swelling went down so no more catheter. I was scared to pee but surprisingly it doesn’t hurt and i dont even need the peri bottle, only for cleaning not for pain. I can walk around on my own now and wash my face lol. Baby is still in the nicu and dad is going to visit him right now :)
