Hello,

Just wanting some reasurance as I'm about to have a planned C section in the next 5 weeks.

I had an emergency C section with my last baby but I was put to sleep for the surgery. It was due to failed induction and the epidural turned really bad and I stopped breathing.

This time they won't allow me to be asleep and they would like me to be awake.

This makes me so anxious, the thought of lying on the table awake whilst they cut me open scares me so much. Also the surgeon said it could take 15-20 minutes before baby is out and up to 45 minutes to and hour to close everything up. That's a seriously long time to wait. I'm having anxiety attacks and stressing about this whole thing.

I would just like to ask anyone out there who has had a C section whilst awake if you could please tell me your experience just so I can prepare myself for what's to come.
