How long did you wait to try again after miscarriage

Hello. I have 2 healthy babies (4 and 2) I just miscarried last week Monday. I passed the sac on Wednesday. My husband says he wants to wait for a year to try again.

Today he asked if we can have sex, I said the Dr didn't say no. She just said to wait 2 months to get pregnant. He said ok. The thing is, he didn't pull out. He finished inside. I am confused. He wanted for wait, but then didn't try not to get pregnant.

Could I get pregnant a week after a miscarriage?
