Contractions at 33 weeks

I’m almost 33 weeks pregnant and I’ve been feeling period like cramps and every once and awhile my stomach will get rock hard and it’ll take my breath away. Last Wednesday I had my normal OBGYN check up. I got hooked up to the NST machine and it was showing uterine irritability and some contractions. My dr sent me over to labor and delivery to be monitored. I ended up staying the night and my dr started me on procardia medication because she was worried that the contractions would cause my cervix to dilate. I’m 1 cm and 50% effaced. I’m still having some light cramping and my stomach will get rock hard, it’s not painful but can’t get uncomfortable.

My next appointment is this Thursday and I’m sure my dr will hook me up to the NST to check the contractions again.

Just wanted to see if anyone has been in a similar situation. Did you make it to 40 weeks or did your baby come early?
