Twenty One Pilots performance insensitive: do you agree?

Seen this little gem of a tweet

A little background: Ireland had a few issues a few years ago known as the Troubles, if you’re not clued in then the IRA wasn’t happy with the way things were being run and so in order to try to please themselves they, a terrorist organisation, took up bombing and other horrible crimes
So, should 21P altered their act in a city/country where this could be perceived as a sensitive issue, or are people overreacting to something that is completely unrelated?

If it’s part of their set, why do people in Belfast take it personally?
They’re literally on tour. People in many different cities are going to see the exact same stage production.

I don’t know the band so I googled them. The front page of their website, announcing the tour, has a picture of an exploding car, so I don’t think it’s far out there that this would be part of the set.  Sucks that it might have been triggering for people, but I doubt very much that was the intent.

I grew up in Belfast during that time. I still have a panic attack when I see someone’s face covered. I irrationally freak out at check points or if someone gets close to my car. I cower at helicopters and jump at anything that sounds like an explosion. I can’t park in mutlirise  or underground car parks. It took me a long time to feel safe in shopping centers/malls. I don’t expect anyone who didn’t grow up in that environment to understand it at all. The troubles are almost synonymous with carbombings and balaclavas (once banned!). I mean Jesus, we just had a carbomb a few months ago. I do think it’s insensitive or at the very least ignorant to go to a city known for its violent sectarian past that tore up an entire country and perform the way they did.

I can understand people feeling uncomfortable with it, especially if you're old enough to remember that time. It would be like performing in New York with burning towers behind you, hits a bit too close to home. Where are the band from? Maybe they're not aware of the history?

Inappropriate- whether they're oblivious to belfasts history or knew it, why do that at all. Knowing their music too I think it's especially stupid to do. They're trying to look "cool" and profit off of an image that doesnt completely go along with their type of stuff is just dumb. Like Jared Leto always wearing that native American feather headdress at his band's concerts. Has next to nothing to do with the music- why are you using it to enhance your image.

A lot of people aren't aware of what's happened in cities that aren't where they're from, simple as.
I'm from Manchester and unless something was global news idk what's happened in a different city on the other side of the world, the band are from the US and I wouldn't expect any band to know everything about every city they play and change a set up that cost £100,000s to get over here according to each city.

If I don't wear shoes in my home and expect my guest not to wear shoes in my home, I'm not gonna be thrilled to deal with a guest wearing shoes in my home and telling me that it's just how they do it at home. That's at least how I look at this
