the pill

I missed 2 birth control pills the day i was supposed to start my period and spotted for one day and didn’t bleed anymore. I went to the doctor and i am not pregnant, and i have not had sex in a month. so my period is messed up because of the pills i missed? My period is late by 6 days with the spotting on day one. will my period just come randomly? and ca this happen with just missing 2 pills
