nuvaring help please

okay so i inserted my nuva ring in last wednesday because that’s when i started my period (first time being on birth control) and last night i had unprotected sex and my bf ejaculated in me, the ring fell out after he pulled out. i put the ring back in after i rinsed it but my question is am i protected from pregnancy or do i have to take plan B ??because i read online the ring has to be inserted for a full 7 days to be protected from pregnancy but i also read that if I start using it during the first five days of my.
