Met this guy on a dating app specific to my race and, I really like him. I need tips

I just got out of a relationship 3 months ago and I started going on dating apps just to see what’s out there. I matched with this dude who’s very smart and knows how to keep a conversation up, only problem is he lives in Ohio. And I don’t live near him. He was so funny too, never met a guy like that before.

I’m trying to keep my distance though he told me he likes it when I triple text which is a good sign because I always do that. But should I back off? We only talked for one day, basically the whole day. The conversation just flowed. But I don’t want to hit him up first today and for him to think I’m desperate haha. 😳 help please ! Tips 🙉
