Can I add my ex back on snap?

I unadded him after he broke up with me three weeks ago. I miss him so much and I’m worried about him. He has depression and want admit it or get treated (he was prescribed medication for it a few years ago and he refused to take them). I was brash with my words after he broke up with me. I apologized but I believe he still thinks I’m mad and I thought maybe adding him (but not texting him first or anything), would let him know communication is open and I’m here if he needs me. Again I understand that I should not text him first and I won’t.
