Can someone explain percentile to me? Lol

Percentile is a way of telling you what height or weight your child is in comparison to others.
So imagine you have 100 babies - baby number 1 is the smallest and baby number 100 is the heaviest. If your baby is falling on the 33rd percentile (for example) for weight - out of 100 babies your baby would be number 33. 
The idea is that your baby should follow the percentile line as it grows. So when it is measured, it should stay around the 33rd percentile week on week.
But saying that, when my son was born he was on the 25th percentile, but by 8 weeks he was up to the 91st percentile (he chunked up massively) but then a few weeks later his weight plateaued and he dropped down to the 50th percentile. So fluctuations are possible.
What you don’t want to see happening is your baby consistently dropping down percentiles (eg go from 50th to 33rd the down to 25th) as this suggests they are not gaining weight adequately.

Percentage of kids his age are those number... If that makes sense so 33% of 4 month old boys are that weight... That's what my understanding is.
