Disappointed

I have been a pretty positive person throughout my pregnancy so far (34 weeks). Havent been sick or needy, and have been generally a happy person.

Our baby shower is supposed to be next weekend and its going to be at my in laws house. Everyone has seemed excited about it and happy to be involved, but really havent made time to go shopping for anything: decorations, games, food, game prizes, planning, etc. We are happy paying for everything, just were involving them because they seemed excited about being involved.

We have tried for the last 4 weeks to go out and get these things and to plan activities and stuff. Every week it has been something different keeping them from having time, so over the course of the last month I have gotten decorations, chosen games, bought food, and planned what feels like everything.

This week all that was left was game prizes. I texted them 3 times to make sure they were okay with going today and instead my in laws did some spring cleaning (with our help) and are now too tired to go out. My MIL is talking about going this week after work but im 34 weeks pregnant and work full time. I want to sleep after work, which is why I was trying to go this weekend.

I'm not mad, I understand everyone else has their own lives and things they want to get done. I'm just disappointed that I feel strung along and I feel as if they dont care about our baby shower and couldnt think of my feelings or make it a priority once in the last month.

My family ALL live at least 2 states away and wont even be able to attend, let alone help plan and do things to prepare. I'm just feeling alone and as if we shouldnt even really be having a shower.

I know a certain amount of this is just hormones and being a little touchy because we are so close to baby coming, just needed to vent I guess.
