How long can a 10 month old be in a car seat?

I’m thinking about going on a vacation this summer. my son will be 9 or 10 months old and the drive will be about 8-9 hours. how long is safe to drive at a time in a car seat? I’m just wondering if I should plan to stop or if it’s safe for me to go the whole 8-9 hours

We’ve done lots of road trips with my kids every year. Because Im 1500 miles away from my home town. I take my kids out every time we stop for gas. Get them something to eat. Change them, for the older ones go yo the bathroom ect.

We did a 3 week road trip when our girl was 10 months. We had to stop every 2-3 hours for her to stretch her legs as well as changing and feeding stops. Also had loads of entertainment in the car for her.
