My son and I live in a different state to his dad. His dad is coming to visit at the end of the year & stay in a motel for a week.

Our baby will be almost one then but I feel really odd about my ex having him overnight. My ex has no experience with babies as he is the youngest out of all his siblings, cousins etc.

He tends to not look after him properly and doesn’t feed him a full bottle because it takes too long. Won’t burp him , bath him and etc, won’t put him in a car seat properly.

I’ve finally gotten my son into a routine & all of this really worries me as he doesn’t get that it’s important.

He also has a bad temper. When I was over his house with bub as a newborn he said I could go for a nap and he’d watch him. I woke up to our baby screaming & my ex yelling “shut up cunt” & shaking him.

It just stresses me out so much because he doesn’t know how to deal with babies & as bad as it sounds I feel like he’ll neglect him when he realises it isn’t so easy looking after a baby on your own.

Not to mention bub won’t know who he is so I’m not even sure he’ll be okay being left alone with him. He’s funny with strangers already and he’s only 9 weeks old.

I would offer for my ex to stay at my house but I feel like he’ll refuse. I’m genuinely scared about giving bub to him for a long period of time ☹️
