Positive pregnancy test negative beta

Hi all! I recently had a d&c a little over a month ago and have been getting strong positives on home pregnancy tests since then. I took two yesterday and they both were very strong positives so I asked my dr for a hcg blood test because I wanted to make sure my levels were going down. My dr emailed me last night and said my hcg was less then 1 so it was negative. I’m so confused as to why every pregnancy test I take is still positive if my beta was negative (and I’ve taken multiple brands). Anyone have a idea what this could be? I emailed my doc and waiting for her to respond.
