Child support or no.

My husband recently told me he wants a divorce. It was literally out if the blue. He never said anything before after an argument we had regarding money, he told me 2 days later he was done. We have a 6 year old son, he adopted him two years ago and he told me he doesn’t want me to go through the court system. If he needs anything he will get what he needs but he doesn’t want to give me money. And he wants to see him on his own terms not have it set up though court. Should I go his way, or should I go through the court for child support and set visitations.
